Our Story
Welcome to Dance Illusions as we enter our 11th year of providing classes in Kyabram. We have two fully equipped studios and offer a range of classes along with the chance to compete. We also offer dance parties which are not only fun but stress free. We hope you find the following information beneficial in your search in the right dance class for you or your child.
Classes at Dance Illusions
Baby ballerina’s is our most popular class for ages 3-5 years. This ballet class is full of fun and focuses on teaching the young dancer the basic elements of ballet.
Kinder dance is for children aged 3-5 years and is jazz based full of fun.
Mini Acro is a class for children 4-5 years, students will learn basic acrobatic tricks based on their skill level.
Ballet, a foundation for all dance styles, classical ballet provides the basis of posture, alignment, line and grace while building strength and artistry.
Pointe classes are by invitation only.
Funk/boys class In this class we dance to the latest music, combining jazz and hip hop moves to create a modern dance.
Tap dance teaches rhythm and coordination in a way no other dance style can. It is challenging and develops musicality and provides a great sense of achievement.
In jazz we teach the traditional jazz/modern/commercial style that has been taught throughout the world for many years.
Contemporary, this class is all about expressing yourself through dance and is lyrical based for students 10+ years, focus is on feelings/expressions, flexibility, technique and floor work.
Adult’s why let the children have all the fun!!! This classed is for parents/friends any adults, to try something different and for themselves. This class is all about having fun with friends, learning dance routines and keeping fit. All ages welcome.
Musical Theatre is an all-round performance……Sing and dance just like you see on Broadway, with musicals such as Annie, Hairspray, Matilda, Mary Poppins, the list goes on.
Acrobatics is a class where students will learn a range of dance tricks based on their skill level. It focuses on strength, flexibility and coordination, where students will learn safe cartwheels, round offs, walk overs and flips, all dependant on the individual student's capabilities.

Policies, Covid, Child Safety
POLICIES- All families must read the terms and conditions and agree to them on the enrolment form. - Parents must provide an email address and mobile number for correspondence. - All fees are inclusive of GST and must be paid within the first 2 weeks of each term.- Our terms run inline with the Victorian school terms.- Classes do not run on public holidays, unless otherwise stated. - All students must wear our dance illusions uniform. - It is common cutesy to contact staff of any student absences, including illness, family holidays or school functions. - If we are unable to participate in classes at the dance studio all classes will convert to online zoom sessions.
COVID - A detailed covid plan can be found on the studios notice board and will be emailed to all enrolled students. - We follow the most up to date government guidelines- Face masks must be worn to and from the studio by children over the age of 12- Face masks do not need to be worn when dancing. -Sanitation stations are set around the studios and waiting area. - Limitations of props and acrobatic equipment. - Marked 1.5m stickers in all rooms. - Parents are encouraged to “kiss & go” and not use the studio waiting room. - Parents of our morning classes are welcome to use the waiting room but must wear a mask. - If you are waiting at the studio or enter the building you must check in at the front desk. - Please promptly drop off and collect your child. - Teachers as always will be vigilant in role marking at the start of every class.
These practices ensure we comply with the current Victorian Government Restricted Activity Directions and align with recommendations from industry bodies relevant to our business.
Please do not attend the studio if:
- you are unwell in anyway - you’ve been identified as a close contact of COVID-19 - you’ve been advised to self isolate
Child Safety- We are committed to child safety at our dance school. - We want our students to feel safe, happy and empowered. - We have zero tolerance of child abuse and any allegations or safety concerns will be treated seriously. - We are an inclusive dance school, we respect and support all our children. We ensure students with disabilities are safe and participate equally. - We are committed to the cultural safety of our aboriginal students, the cultural safety of children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds. - We have legal and moral obligations to contact authorities when we are worried about a child’s safety, which we follow rigorously.- Our organisation is committed to preventing child abuse and identifying risks early, and removing and reducing these risks.
